Rebecca Stahl, LCSW, is a psychotherapist, psychoanalyst, and clinical supervisor in New York City.

People seek therapy for many reasons. You may be navigating an acute crisis, feeling stuck in old patterns, seeking specific symptom relief, or struggling with a sense that something isn’t quite right, even if it's hard to put into words. Often, it's a combination of these things.

What unites the wide range of people I work with is a desire to better understand themselves and the challenges in their lives. Psychotherapy with me is a process and relationship focused on building awareness of the unconscious patterns that shape how you experience yourself, others, and the world around you. This process can lead to unexpected places and be deeply rewarding, but it can also be quite challenging. I don’t take for granted how much trust this relationship requires and approach our work as a supportive and curious collaborator.

My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming and I welcome people of all backgrounds and identities. I understand how systemic oppression and unique experiences of race, class, gender, sexuality, nationality, and ability shape the challenges in people’s lives, and  integrate this into my practice.

My services include psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, and clinical consultation. Visit the Details page to learn more.
